This file contains the necessary files for both 32-bit and 64-bit systems, as well as the Techstream software and patch. You can also use your own Techstream software if you have one.
After downloading the file, extract it to a folder on your desktop. You should see something like this:
Step 2: Install Techstream software and NET Framework
Before installing the MVCI driver, you need to install the Techstream software and the NET Framework 4.7.2. To do this, open the Techstream V16.00.017 folder and run Techstream_Setup_V16.00.017.exe. Follow the instructions on the screen and accept the license agreement. Enter your user name, company name and phone number as 123.
After installing Techstream, run NET Framework 4.7.2.exe and accept the license terms. Wait for the installation to complete.
Step 3: Install MVCI driver and update device drivers
Now you can install the MVCI driver for your cable. Depending on your system type, open either the driver for 32bit or driver for 64bit folder and run Driver MVCI.exe. Choose a destination folder and create a desktop icon. Then click Install and Finish.
Next, you need to update the device drivers for your cable. Plug in your Mini VCI cable and wait for Windows to recognize it. Then go to Device Manager and find M-VCI and USB Serial Port under Other Devices. Right-click on each of them and select Update Driver Software.
Browse for the driver software on your computer and select the destination folder where you installed the MVCI driver (C:/Program Files (x86)/Autokent MVCI MultiDriver X64/1.4.8 by default). Windows will update your driver software successfully.
Make sure that your USB Serial Port is set to COM4 in Device Manager. If not, right-click on it and select Properties. Go to Port Settings tab and click Advanced. Change the COM Port Number to COM4 and click OK.
Step 4: Activate Techstream software with patch
The last step is to activate your Techstream software with the patch. Run Techstream software from your desktop shortcut and select your area region, language and vehicle information. If it asks for an activation/registration key, press Cancel to exit.
Go to Setup->VIM Selection->Select interface as MVCI Autokent-X64 1.4.8.
Copy and paste Techstream Patch 64bit from the software folder to your desktop and run it as administrator. Select vehicle information again and press OK.
